Meteorologically, Spring comprises of March, April and May whilst Summer comprises of June, July and August. Many of us tend to associate sunshine with the Summer season and as a result, we expect it to be the sunniest season of the year but sometimes, Spring is actually the sunniest season of the year. This happens more frequently in Scotland, Ireland and the west of the UK in general. When was Spring sunnier than the Summer for the UK as a whole using the UK Met Office's data from their regional series going back to 1929? All of the following years (seems to have become much more common within the past decade).
